GTX 1050 Ti Review: Affordable Graphics Card from GeForce 10 Series

The presence of GTX 1080, GTX 1070 and GTX 1060 is able to prove that the architecture of Pascal GPU can offer fast performance with low power consumption. Unfortunately, the price of the video cards above is relatively expensive for most PC gamers.

To complete the line of graphics cards based on Pascal GPU architecture, Nvidia officially presenting their latest graphics card, GeForce GTX 1050 Series. Interestingly, Nvidia offers two variants at this time, GTX 1050 Ti and non Ti. It seems that Nvidia released this series to replace the GTX 950 and GTX 750 ti which have become less popular at the market.

Furthermore, the price of GTX 1050 series is quite affordable. In term of price, the GTX 1050 series will fight directly against AMD's Radeon RX 460 series.

GTX 1050 Ti is quite strong to run Far Cry Primal games on high settings and can score 60 average FPS. Obviously, the FPS drops quite significant when the games is running on ultra settings.

According to, the Rise of the Tomb Raider games performs more optimal on Nvidia's video card. From the test above, GTX 1050 Ti is able to reach 60 avg FPS. Unfortunately, this video card can only reach 41 avg FPS on ultra settings.

Standard specifications

GTX 1050 Ti itself comes with 768 CUDA Core and is clocked at 1290 MHz (Base Clock) & 1392 MHz (Boost clock). The GPU chip of this video card is equipped with 4gb GDDR5 memory, with memory speed clocked at 7000 MHz. Unfortunately, the GTX 1050 non Ti version is only available with 2gb GDDR5 memory.
